Dr Richard Chin

MBBS, FANZCA

I grew up in Melbourne and studied medicine at The University of Sydney. I lived and worked in Sydney for 17 years before moving back to Melbourne with my young family.

I carried out my fellowship training in Oxford, England majoring in ENT, paediatric and obstetric anaesthesia. I also completed a second fellowship in the National Treasure Post in cardiac anaesthesia and research at the Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, London.

On returning back to Australia, I was a full time paediatric staff specialist at Sydney Childrens' Hospital and Prince of Wales Hospital, Randwick before returning back to Melbourne.

Currently I work at the Western Health network, the Mercy Hospital for Women and the Royal Dental Hospital.

I also work in private hospitals, which include the Epworth network hospitals, St Vincent’s network hospitals, North Park Private Hospital and Sir John Monash Private Hospital.

Although my main areas of interest are obstetrics and paediatrics, I also regularly anaesthetize for patient undergoing plastics, orthopaedics, general, eyes, vascular, urology and ENT surgery.

I continue to enjoy being actively involved in the training of upcoming anaesthetists. I am a member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and keep up to date with ongoing training and workshops.
